Greetings!  For those of you who don’t know me, my name’s David Fairclough - not the footballer - although I do come from Liverpool, and I’m a Toffee at heart.

 

Although majoring in TVR alarms, I’ve been involved with the car security industry for many years.  For 3 years I ran VESS Security Solutions, specialising in the installation of alarms for leasing companies such as Lease Plan, Raynesway and main dealers.  The products used were Gemini then later MetaSystem, both of which have been installed to TVR cars.

 

In 2000, I joined MetaSystem UK’s technical team.  Having installed the Meta product for many years, the experience gave me a good grounding for the role of Head of Technical Support and R & D for the South of England.  The next 10 years also proved to be a bit kinder on the knees.

 

The position offered me a specialised insight into the Meta product range and a wealth of invaluable technical knowledge.  The occasional trip to Reggio Emilia, MetaSystem Italy, kept me abreast of new products (as well as the opportunity for the occasional glass of Chianti!).

During my time with MetaSystem, I was responsible for presentations and technical training of engineers as well as liaising with manufacturers, helping with the design and compilation of security systems.

 

I had the pleasure of working with the following brands: Alfa Romeo; Fiat; Hyundai; TVR; Lotus; Opel; Peugeot; PSA; Rolls Royce; Smart; Subaru; Vauxhall.  My experience working with these manufacturers has allowed me to develop the skills to reprogramme their security systems in the same manner as those for TVR, as the majority of these manufacturers also installed Meta alarms.

 

I was also involved with the likes of the AA, British Gas and the RAC on their fleet vehicle requirements.

 

In 2011 HF Solutions was born, specialising in installing and servicing alarm systems on TVRs and alike, as well as other vehicle technology, such as reversing sensors, bluetooth phone kits, witness cameras and much more.

 

The specialised experience with MetaSystem TVR alarms has put me in good stead, regularly doing work for the likes of Bespoke Performance, Str8six, Racing Green, Hilton Coachworks et al.

Over the years my reputation for quality of work and product has grown immensely, especially within the world of TVR.  My exacting standards and drive for perfection can lead to some lengthy installs, but this seems to sit comfortably with the passion my customers have for their cars, especially as each seems to have its own idiosyncrasies.  These can often lead to a bit of lateral thinking as well as a nice glass of Chianti in the evening.  Some things never change.
